Equipment

  • Medium-sized bowl
  • Whisk and wooden spoon
  • Rolling pin or tortilla press
  • Skillet or griddle
  • Stove

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • ¾ cup water

Instructions

  • Place the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Whisk them together until fully combined. Pour in the water and olive oil and mix until the dough pulls together.
  • Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and knead it until smooth, approximately 5-10mins. If you feel it is too sticky, add a bit more flour, and if you feel it is too dry, add a bit more water.
  • Divide the dough into 8 balls, and using a tortilla press or rolling pin, make them into thin rounds, about 6-8 inches in diameter.
  • Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat and lightly grease it with olive oil. Place a tortilla on the skillet and cook until slightly brown on the bottom, about 2 mins. Flip and cook the other side until slightly brown.
