Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • Slow cooker

Ingredients

  • 4 oz boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ tsp salt
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp dry oregano
  • 1 tsp dry basil
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  • Season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, oregano, basil, garlic powder, and onion powder. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat and sear the chicken breasts for 4 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Make the gravy: combine the chicken broth, soy sauce, vinegar, honey, garlic, red pepper flakes, and cornstarch in a small bowl. Pour over the chicken breasts and cook on high for 2-3 hours, or on low for 4-5 hours.
  • Transfer the cooked chicken breasts to a serving dish. Add the butter to the gravy left on the slow cooker and stir until melted. Drizzle the gravy over the cooked chicken breasts.
