Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • ½ cup onion finely chopped
  • ¼ cup red bell pepper diced
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp dried parsley
  • 1/2 tsp salt and ¼ tsp black pepper, or to taste (adjust after baking if needed)
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated (for extra flavor, use sharp or aged cheddar)
  • ½ cup Original Bisquick Baking Mix
  • ¾ cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • chopped lettuce, tomatoes, and pickles for serving

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Brown the ground beef along with the chopped onion, diced bell pepper, paprika, parsley, salt, and pepper in a large skillet over medium-high heat until fully cooked.
  • Lightly grease or spray a 9-inch pie dish with cooking spray. Transfer the meat mixture into the dish and sprinkle the shredded cheddar evenly over the meat.
  • Whisk together the Bisquick, milk, and eggs in a bowl until mostly smooth (a few small lumps are fine), then pour the mixture evenly over the meat and cheese.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. If the pie starts to brown too quickly, cover it loosely with foil. Let stand for 10 minutes before slicing to allow the pie to set.

Notes

  • Top each slice with lettuce, pickles, onion, tomatoes, or your favorite burger toppings!
  • Serve with a simple side salad, roasted veggies, or French fries to complete the meal.
