Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp sesame seed oil
  • 2 lb lean ground beef
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 inch piece of fresh ginger, grated
  • cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sriracha, or to taste
  • Freshly ground pepper to taste
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • Freshly made rice

Instructions

  • In a large skillet, over medium-high heat, heat the sesame seed oil and cook the ground beef, minced garlic, and grated ginger until fully cooked.
  • Add the brown sugar, soy sauce, sriracha, and sliced green onions. Cook for 10 minutes.
  • Serve over freshly made white rice.

Notes

  1. If you can’t find lean ground beef, drain the fat after cooking it.
  2. Do not add salt to the beef, soy sauce has enough sodium.
  3. Add the sriracha amount according to your liking.
