Ingredients

For the brownies:

  • 1 ½ cups sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • ½ cup butter, softened
  • 2 eggs
  • 3 overripe bananas, mashed
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • ½ walnuts, chopped

For the glaze:

  • ½ cup butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 3 tbso milk
  • 1 ½ tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Make the batter: beat together the sugar, sour cream, softened butter, and eggs until creamy. Preheat the oven to 375 F.
  • Mix in the mashed bananas and vanilla extract.
  • Whisk in the flour and baking soda until smooth. Mix in the walnuts.
  • Spoon the batter into a greased 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • Bake for 25 mins or until slightly golden brown
  • Make the glaze: melt the butter in a medium-sized saucepan over low heat and cook until golden brown. Turn off the heat and mix in the powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk.
  • Spread the glaze over the brownies while still warm. Let them cool completely and cut into squares.

Notes

  1. Mix the wet ingredients together before adding the dry ingredients to make the batter.
  2. It is better to use overripe bananas. Underripe bananas are no good for this recipe
  3. Bake the brownies until golden brown or a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
