Frequently Asked Questions

15-Minute Garlic Butter Chicken Bites: Easy One-Pan Recipe

What If I Don’t Have Fresh Garlic?

Fresh garlic is recommended for best results, but you can use ½ tsp of garlic powder instead.

Can I Use Chicken Thighs Instead Of Chicken Breasts?

You certainly can! Make sure to remove all fat and remember they take a bit more time than chicken breasts to cook, so add a minute to the searing time.

Can I Make This Without Flour?

Flour is used to create a light crust and to thicken the sauce slightly, but you can skip it if you’re avoiding gluten.

Is This Recipe Suitable For Freezing?

Yes! You can freeze the cooked chicken for up to 3 months and thaw it in the fridge overnight before reheating.

What Are Some Quick Side Dish Recommendations?

This entree goes great with lemon couscous, freshly cooked rice, or steamed vegetables like asparagus, carrots, or broccoli. To make lemon couscous, boil chicken broth with lemon juice, add the couscous, and remove from heat. Let it sit for 5 minutes and then fluff it with a fork.

How Do I Prevent The Chicken From Sticking To The Pan?

First, make sure the skillet is hot before adding the oil and butter. Then, wait until the oil and butter are hot and coat the pan well before placing the chicken on it. Do not move it for 3 minutes. This forms a crust and prevents sticking.

I made this tonight using boneless skinless chicken thighs. Followed the recipe. And the only thing I just slightly altered was when adding the butter in at the end, I used a garlic herb compound butter I’d made. I did add an extra sprinkling of salt at the finish. This was such an easy and delicious recipe! I’m really glad I found it. I do think you could add a squeeze of lemon at the end to make the flavor pop, but it’s really good as is! Thank you for sharing the recipe!

The chicken nearly melted in my mouth. My husband is not keen on chicken, too bland, but he said this was good, and very favorable. I quit using dried basil, it just has no flavor so when I added the garlic I added a tablespoon. Will definitely make again. Thanks for this keeper.
