Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • cup onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1- 6 oz can tomato paste
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp ground mustard
  • 1 ½ tsp dried oregano
  • 2 cups potatoes diced
  • 1 cup carrots diced
  • 1 cup frozen peas
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Freshly chopped parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Brown the ground beef with the diced onion and minced garlic in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Place the meat mixture along with the rest of the ingredients (except for the fresh parsley) into the pot of the slow cooker.
  • Give everything a good stir and cook on high for 3 hours.
  • Serve over freshly cooked white rice and garnish with freshly chopped parsley

Notes

  • If you can’t find lean ground beef, drain the excess fat rendered when cooking the ground beef.
  • Try to chop your veggies roughly the same size (potatoes and carrots) so they cook evenly.
  • If you wish to cook this recipe overnight, cook it on low for 6 hours.
