To make this pillowy soft bread you will need:

  • Vegetable oil
  • Unsalted butter
  • Granulated sugar
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla extract
  • All-purpose flour
  • Baking powder
  • Salt
  • Milk
  • Ground cinnamon
  • Light brown sugar

How To Make Cinnamon Donut Bread?

  1. Grease and flour a loaf pan, and preheat the oven to 350 F
  2. Using a stand or hand-held mixer, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and oil until smooth and creamy. Add the eggs and ½ tsp vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  3. Mix in the flour, baking powder, salt, and milk until well combined and smooth.
  4. Place ½ cup of this batter in a measuring cup or small bowl, and stir in ½ tsp of ground cinnamon and ½ tsp vanilla extract.
  5. Into your prepared loaf pan pour half of the remaining batter.
  6. Spoon half of the cinnamon batter on top.
  7. Pour the rest of the batter over these spoonfuls of cinnamon batter
  8. Spoon the remaining cinnamon batter on top.
  9. Using a skewer or butter knife, swirl the two batters together and bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
  10. Let the loaf cool down for 15 mins.
  11. While the loaf is cooling down, mix the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon in a small bowl and then place this mixture in a shallow dish. Melt the butter in a separate shallow dish.
  12. Once the loaf has cooled down, remove it from the pan carefully, roll it in the melted butter, and then in the cinnamon sugar until all sides are fully covered in butter and sugar.
  13. Let cool completely and serve.

How Can I Make Cinnamon Donut Bread Vegan?

  1. Replace the butter with the same amount of margarine or vegetable oil.
  2. Use almond, soy, or any other non-dairy milk of your choice
  3. Instead of eggs, use ¼ cup apple sauce or mashed banana for each egg
  4. Add ½ tsp of baking soda if using banana or apple sauce

What if I Don’t Have Brown Sugar?

You can use the same amount of granulated sugar. The flavor might not be exactly the same and the color of the color of the topping might change, but it will still be delicious.
