Frequently Asked Questions

Can I Use Fresh Spinach?

Yes, you can use one 10 oz bag of fresh spinach. Chop it and cook it in boiling water until wilted. Squeeze out all the water before using.

How Do I Know When The Spinach Brownies Are Fully Cooked?

Test them by inserting a toothpick in the middle. If it comes out clean, they’re ready.

What Should I Do If I Don’t Have A 9×13-Inch Baking Dish?

Use any similar-sized dish, or divide the mixture into two smaller dishes. If using smaller dishes, check for doneness 10 minutes before the baking time is over.

How Do I Prevent The Brownies From Being Soggy?

Make sure you let the spinach thaw out completely and squeeze as much liquid out of it as you can. Also, make sure the brownies are fully cooked before taking them out of the oven.

Can I Add More Ingredients To The Recipe?

Yes, you can add. Cubed ham, chopped cooked bacon, mushrooms, or red bell peppers are all good ad-ins.

Is It Necessary To Pre-Cook The Onion?

Sauteeing the onions will make them milder in flavor, so if you don’t like the sharp flavor of raw onions, cook them.
